i'm inside now

i can not beleive the amount of actors and actresses here

mo3taz el demerdash saluted me warmly and invited me to sit with him

they did not want me to enter the main hall with the vips and wanted me 2 go upstairs

i think i'm the only one here with a t-shirt and jeans and i dressed like that deliberately

mo3ez mas3ood is here e33 sitting with mo3taz

some very bedan politicians and activists are here

saw sherif mounir , ghada adel and others, i'm not good with actors' names

there are actually more actors than politicians

btw thr wr a demo of foriegn activists only for gaza outside uni

all those polished well dressed people, i'm choking! Some dust here plz!

recognized some people from the muslim brotherhood

the presidential guard are behaving very politely with wide smiles on faces

unlike the stupid suites on the entrance of the hall who wanted to send me upstairs

i'm sitting behind abdallah schreiber, i don't like his views about blogging

just saluted hisham qassem sitting on the other side of the hall

all the mozaz are upstairs in the journos and students section

i'm stuck with old people, the only mozza here is ghada adel

security guys r behind me discussing the way the way they will be seated and intrigued by my phone activity

they are trying to know what i'm doing peeping from behind my shoulders

Sorry all my followers! They jammed all mobile communications :(

@tova_s naive people were happy when he quoted from the Holy Quran

the one who said "I love you Obama" was actor Sherif Mounir

i intended to twitter the speech and even broadcast it in live video via Bambuser but they jammed all mobile communications

when the jamming took place i realized that sombody important is gonna show up, and indeed Zakaria Azmy showed up

then was followed by gamal mubarak - he's got a huge nose btw - then ministers then shazly then pope shenouda then azhar sheikh

they told the invited students to come at 6 am to the Obama speech for security reasons, lots of them did not show up

I overheard security people discussing the absence of a lot of students and how it is not going to look good because the hall is half empty

In the last few minutes before the speech they were discussing how to fill in the gaps in the seats with people

Obama: Mubarak obviously has decades of experience !!! ROFLMAO

Wael Abbas, a blogger who's exposed torture by Egyptian police: "I was hoping for more (on democracy and human rights abuses). He was not really direct."
Renowned Egyptian blogger and activist Wael Abbas levelled similar criticism, saying Obama “did not go into specifics about the most important thing of all which is democracy.”
“He was addressing Muslim religious sentiment, quoting the Koran, it’s the same approach as the Muslim Brotherhood,” he said, referring to Egypt’s main opposition grouping. “He should address reason not emotions.”

"It is a disaster," said Wael Abbas a renowned journalist and blogger. "He shouldn't be coming to Egypt. It's not a free Muslim country. "He should speak in a Muslim country where they respect the rule of law."
Sunday Times
There was criticism, however, mostly from the young bloggers who have taken on Egypt’s heavy-handed regime and often been jailed. “He was addressing the religious emotions of the people, not their minds,” said Wael Abbas, a prominent blogger.
"I think the US government is trying to send a message to the Egyptian government that it will deal with us on the same level as it deals with them, that it considers us as important," said Egyptian blogger Wael Abbas, who has won awards from international human rights organisations for videos depicting police abuse he has posted on his website, Misrdigital.com.
US-based Egyptian pro-democracy and human rights activists had criticized Obama for choosing to address Muslims from Egypt, saying that it would confer legitimacy on Egyptian President Hosny Mubarak, who has ruled the country under emergency law since 1981.
"I have a problem with this whole notion of a speech to the Muslim world," Abbas added. "We are not martians. We have the same problems as people in Latin America or Eastern Europe living under dictatorships."

As for the speech meant to redefine America's relationship to the Muslim world, prominent Egyptian blogger Wael Abbas told the BBC, "Obama should make a statement to a free Muslim country…Egypt is not a free Muslim country."
“It’s devastating that a man like Obama is coming to Egypt to reinforce the oppressive policies of President Hosni Mubarak," he said, adding, "It's like beating 80 million Egyptians over the head - like saying we believe in democracy but not here."

Daily News
While waiting for Obama to arrive at Cairo University blogger Wael Abbas spent the time celebrity-spotting, possibly because he was “stuck with old people” downstairs and “all the [babes] are upstairs in the journos and students section” [sic].
Abbas quipped that “there are actually more actors than politicians”.
Abbas criticized the “puppets” who “stood up and became hysterical and clapped as soon as Hillary Clinton arrived” as if they are “teenagers at a Tamer Hosny concert”.
Abbas says that he felt “ashamed” as a result of Obama’s speech because “he humored us — what con artistry! — with two Quranic verses and the stupid people were overjoyed”.

This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. It’s the old what goes around comes around routine.
